American politician who is best known for serving as the Mayor of New Orleans, Louisiana since May 7, 2018. She is a Democrat and the first woman to hold the office. Her Instagram account mayorcantrell has gained over 110,000 followers. 

Before Fame

In 1990, she moved to New Orleans to attend Xavier University of Louisiana, where she earned a BA in sociology. She also attended an executive training program at the Harvard Kennedy School.
